The Rangers boss saw Kemar Roofe, Glen Kamara and James Tavernier limp out of the game which Rangers won thanks to two Borna Barisic penalties and a sublime strike from substitute Ryan Kent.
Joe Aribo gave Rangers the lead after a goalkeeping blunder but two mistakes from Borna Barisic allowed Antwerp level. Steven Davis was harshly penalised for a challenge in the box which left Antwerp ahead at the break and Rangers depleted.
But an impressive reaction from Rangers saw them take the game to their hosts though gaps were left at the back. Substitutes Ryan Jack and Ryan Kent made big impressions off the bench and Barisic atoned for some of his mistakes by converting from the spot in the absence of Tavernier, either side of a very well worked Kent goal which capped an enthralling and eventful 4-3 win for Steven Gerrard’s team.
Here’s how the Rangers players rated.

9. Scott Arfield - 6
Recovering from injury, lack of minutes eventually caught up but usual busy, enthusiastic running from midfielder. Photo: RUSSELL CHEYNE

10. Kemar Roofe - 5

11. Alfredo Morelos - 8
Comes alive in Europe and played a big role in Rangers attack as a focal point and as a foil for Aribo and then Kent. Won penalty and big performance despite not scoring. Photo: Ian MacNicol

12. MANAGER - Steven Gerrard
Big call leaving one of his regulars out but unleashed Kent in a game-changing switch. Far from perfect performance but will be relieved to leave a bewildering and breathless match with a 23rd European win tainted by Roofe and Tavernier injuries. Photo: Ian MacNicol
