Doubt whether Rangers Covid-19 rule-breaker will play again for current club

There is a doubt as to whether Rangers Covid-19 protocol breaker Dapo Mebude will play again for loan side Queen of the South.

The 19-year-old was one of five players named yesterday as the quintet of Rangers players who were caught attending an illegal party during lockdown. The others were Bongani Zungu, Nathan Patterson, Calvin Bassey and youth goalkeeper Brian Kinnear.

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard said he felt “personally let down” by the actions of the five as the Ibrox side close in on their first league title in a decade.

And now Queens boss Allan Johnston says he’s unsure if the attacker will play again for the Dumfries side.

He told the Scottish Sun: “It’s too early to say if he’ll play for us again. We’ll speak to Rangers once it all settles down.”

The Scottish youth international has made just three appearances for the Palmerston Park side. His contract at Rangers expires this summer.
