Almost a year on from his departure as Rangers head coach, Michael Beale has been discussing his time at Ibrox in depth on the Mindset For Sport podcast.
Sacked in October 2023, Beale’s stint as Gers boss was judged a disaster in the eyes of many supporters, with the 38-year-old head coach a full seven points behind rivals Celtic when he was sacked just two months into the new campaign. It was a complete contrast to his first spell at the club, he helped Rangers to their memorable 55th league title as the club’s first team coach under Steven Gerrard.
Much of his spell at the main man at Ibrox was blamed on his poor recruitment, with many of his big summer signings falling completely flat in a summer that produced more flops than successes. However, under new boss Philippe Clement, some of Beale’s purchases that have proven to be real steady additions.
In total, there were 11 players who came through the doors at Ibrox during the his reign, but who offered Rangers the most - and who offered next to nothing at all?
Here we rank each Rangers player signed by Beale from worst to best and ask - where are they now?

9. Abdallah Sima
Rangers would love to have this man back. The Senegal ace enjoyed a fine season at Rangers last term and the Glasgow club still appear keen on a permanent switch but the figures just don't seem to work out. His injury last January just as it looked like Rangers were turning a corner was a huge blow. Showed Philippe Clement exactly what he was missing when he returned to fitness in the final few games, and Rangers could desperately do with a player of his ilk at the moment. | Ian MacNicol Photo: Ian MacNicol

10. Dujon Sterling
With Borna Barisic injured, Sterling made his debut under Michael Beale at left-back in a 1-0 defeat to Celtic at Ibrox, but rarely appeared again for the ex-head coach before his departure. It was post-Beale that Sterling really came to prominence. Produced a series of excellent performances for the club at full-back, central-midfield, right-wing and centre-back. The truth is, there's been moments where it could be said that he was Rangers' best player in four separate positions. Signed for free, he has added tons to the squad in terms of quality and versatility, and raised his transfer value during his time at Ibrox. 11. Jack Butland
The one Michael Beale got 100% right. With Allan McGregor retiring and Rangers unable to rely on any of his deputies, he was tasked with finding a goalkeeper that could fill some pretty big boots. In Butland, he not only managed to find one that did that, but he found him without paying a fee. Just six months after his arrival, he was touted with £10million moves back to the EPL after his outstanding displays at Ibrox. Not only is he Beale's best signing, he is arguably the club's best signing in the last decade. | SNS Group Photo: SNS
