The player’s Rangers future is in doubt after the winger was told to train with the youngsters after showing up on Monday morning.

Ibrox management are said to be unhappy that McKay has failed to come to terms on an agreement of a new contract, with his current deal set to expire at the end of the 2017/18 season.

Former manager Mark Warburton is said to be interested in signing the 22-year-old for Nottingham Forest. After two seasons out on loan, McKay became the first-choice left-winger at Ibrox under Warburton, and his old boss is keen to bring him to the City Ground.
