Raith Rovers players set for Monday meeting as star man pleads for contract extension
Influential playmaker eyeing a longer stay at Stark’s Park
Dylan Easton has revealed he wants to extend his current deal at Raith Rovers as he backed the Kirkcaldy side to mount a promotion push under Dougie Imrie next season.
The influential playmaker was the subject of transfer interest from Fife rivals Dunfermline Athletic last summer before signing a three-year contract that ties him to Raith until the summer of 2028.
However, Easton is already looking beyond that and even hopes to remain at Raith long enough to earn a testimonial, which he would be eligible for if he hits 10 years service in 2032 at the age of 38, unless the club break with tradition and award him one sooner.

"I'd love to extend it further," Easton said. "I'd love to get a testimonial, that'd be nice. I've just turned 32 and I'm still feeling really fit. I've never missed training, never missed a game. I'm always there. The older I've got, I've realised that I've got to look after myself a lot more. I still feel like I've still got so much more to give."
Rovers finished their campaign with a 3-2 win over Ross County at Stark's Park on Friday - a result which secured fifth place in the Championship and condemned the Highlanders to a second successive relegation.
Easton hit 17 goals across all competitions for the second season running including a double in the Challenge Cup final win over Inverness as Raith fell one place short in their bid to finish in the promotion play-offs.
"As a collective, I think it's been a frustrating season, lots of ups and downs," Easton said. "But, if you look at me personally, I've still hit really, really big numbers and I've managed to do that over the last three or four seasons. I think it was 17 goals this season again so if I can keep replicating that for the next couple of years, I'll be delighted."
A summer of change now awaits Rovers with several players expected to depart as their contracts expire and a number of new faces set to arrive as manager Imrie puts his own stamp on a side he inherited from Barry Robson following his sacking in November.

"There'll be a meeting on Monday," Easton revealed. "The manager made it clear that there's going to be changes. He wants to bring in his own players, his own way he wants to play and, to be fair to us, I think we bought into it. I think performances, apart from Arbroath and St Johnstone, have been really, really good.
"But, yeah, I'm still under contract. I love it here. Hopefully, I can speak to the manager and extend it even longer.
"I'm feeling really good. Since he's come in, he's given me a lot of freedom in getting the ball in the final third and trying to get in 1v1 areas. 95 per cent of the time I'll be frustrating, but I'll just keep going and keep going.
"I know I've got little bits of magic to create goals or create assists and I'm just delighted that I'm still here for the next couple of years."
Easton is convinced that Raith can challenge for promotion to the Premiership under Imrie.
"Yeah, I think so," he said. "I think he's made it clear that even with the group that he inherited this season, we should have been in the playoffs. It's a group that should have been competing at the top end of the table and it's just been one of them seasons.
"I don't want to use it as an excuse, but I think people can see from the outside the amount of changeover we've had. As players, it does affect you. There's different formations, different tactics, different styles.
"Managers like different players and it's constantly changing around. But since he's come in, he's been brilliant. Training, you can see him on the side, how intense he is.
"He's just a winner. He wants to win every single game, every single tackle, every duel. I think we've picked up on that and the boys have been different class. There's going to be changes. It's football. People are coming and going. Hopefully, we can build a good squad and get off to a good start next season."
