The Senegalese player made 51 league appearances for Hearts, scoring one goal, and was a key member of the team which won the Championship in season 2014-15.

He found first-team appearances harder to come by last season, falling behind Prince Buaben, Miguel Pallardo and Arnaud Djoum in the pecking order.

After failing to feature in January he went out on loan to Motherwell, making 10 appearances before the end of the campaign as the Steelmen reached the top six.

Gomis previously had two spells at Dundee United, initially joining after impressing at Cowdenbeath. He was part of the United team that won the 2010 Scottish Cup final.
