Joey Barton handed one-match ban for betting offences
Joey Barton has been suspended for one game by the SFA after the former Rangers midfielder admitted to breaching the governing body's strict rules on gambling offences.

Barton was alleged to have placed bets on 44 matches between 1 July and 15 September, following his summer move from Burnley to Rangers.
The former England international attended the hearing at Hampden today, where he admitted breaching the rules. The SFA then decided to hand down an immediate one-match suspension as punishment.
Seeing as the 34-year-old has already left Rangers, having had his contract terminated earlier this month, it’s unlikely he’ll ever have to serve his suspension in Scottish football.
It would be up to his next football association whether that ban carries over to his next club.
