Steve Clarke’s plans were heavily disrupted by injury and COVID-19 in the camp in the build-up to the semi-final win over Israel, but Scotland shrugged it off to force their way through two hours of football and a penalty shoot-out success.
Serbia too went to extra-time and saw off Norway for the one-off showdown in the Balkans to decide who will participate in next summer’s European Championship.
However there’s also the question of who will participate in Steve Clarke’s big game on November 12, and with a host of returning players, the manager will have a selection headache of a positive kind to pick in his recent 3-5-2 formation.
He’ll have options to select, options on the bench and of course options to change his formation and tactics, if injury is kind over the next few weeks. Here’s a look at those who might be involved in Belgrade.

5. Andy Robertson - LWB
Captain reliable gives width and stamina on the flank and is capable of covering the back three as well as attacking, plus set-piece delivery. The first name on the team-sheet, no question. Photo: Craig Williamson - SNS Group

6. Ryan Jack - CDM
Another frequent pick of the manager, Jack could get the nod over utility man Scott McTominay who has filled in across the midfield and defence, but the Rangers midfielder's consistency with Callum McGregor and John McGinn might swing it. Photo: Craig Williamson - SNS Group

7. Callum McGregor - CM
It's hard to imagine a Scotland midfield without him now. Can fill a variety of roles across the middle, join attacks or cover the defence. Has seen a lot of football but almost certain to be selected if fit. Photo: Alan Harvey - SNS Group

8. John McGinn - CM
Bundles of energy and a positive attacking mind - McGinn's club form has carried into the national arena frequently and he's an important and dynamic asset for Clarke's midfield Photo: Alan Harvey - SNS Group / SFA
