The player has since tested positive himself but has not been in contact with any other players or staff members at the McDiarmid Park side, according to the club.

A statement from St Johnstone read: “In line with all Government and JRG guidance, we have contacted all of the relevant authorities to make them aware of the situation and keep them all updated.

"Our game tomorrow afternoon against Hamilton Academical FC will go ahead as planned.

“Our player is now self-isolating at home and we wish him well as the health and wellbeing of our players and staff will always be our priority.”
