Scotland World Cup record broken twice in same match - and could be again before tournament ends
Celtic legend usurped by Rangers ace in World Cup record books
A Scotland World Cup record was broken twice during the 1-0 win over Haiti - and could be for a third time before the tournament ends.
The Group C victory in Foxborough was already notable for being Scotland's first World Cup win since 1990 and only their fifth of all time. Scotland now need just a point from their remaining group matches against Morocco and Brazil to all but guarantee their place in the knockout stages of a major tournament for the first time ever.
However, Scottish football history has already been made in the United States after the appearance of two 20-year-olds against Haiti.

Former Celtic captain Paul McStay held the record for the youngest Scotland player to feature in a World Cup match for 40 years. He was 21 years, 7 months, and 22 days old when he played against Uruguay at the 1986 World Cup.
That was until Ben Gannon-Doak took to the field at Boston Stadium in the early hours of Sunday morning. The Bournemouth winger was aged 20 years and 214 days when he earned his 15th cap after being selected in Steve Clarke's starting XI for the the Massachusetts clash.
But while McStay was able to hold onto his record for four decades, Doak had just 82 minutes in the record books as he was usurped as Scotland's youngest ever World Cup player by substitute Findlay Curtis.

The Rangers winger, who turned 20 six days ago, took the mantle when he replaced John McGinn for the final eight minutes, plus an additional eight minutes of stoppage time, to help Scotland see out the victory. He also become the youngest Scotland player to be booked at the finals when he earned a yellow card in the 90th minute for a high boot.
How long Curtis holds onto the record will depend on whether Manchester United youngster Tyler Fletcher receives any minutes during Scotland's duration in the tournament. The midfielder was called up as a last-minute injury replacement for Billy Gilmour and will become Scotland's youngest World Cup player if he takes to the field at the age of 19. Fletcher will not turn 20 until March 19, 2027.
Hearts forward James Wilson holds the record for the youngest Scotland player to be capped in any international match after making his debut at 18 years and 17 days old in March last year during the Nations League play-off defeat to Greece at Hampden.
In doing so, he eclipsed the previous record held by John Lambie since 1887 by 46 days.
