Scotland’s quest to reach next summer’s World Cup continues on Monday night when they take on Belarus.
The match is being played behind closed doors in the Hungarian town of Zalaegerszeg at the ZTE Arena. UEFA have ordered all of the Belarussians’ home matches to be played on neutral territory with no fans due to their involvement in the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
It will ensure an eerie atmosphere when Steve Clarke’s Scotland side take to the field in a match they know they must win to maintain their hopes of finishing top of Group C.
The campaign started on Friday night when Scotland ground out a valuable point against top seeds Denmark at Parken Stadion in Copenhagen.
Clarke must now decide who to pick for what is - on paper - a much more winnable match against a team that was routed 5-1 by Greece on Friday.
Our chief football writer Alan Pattullo, who is inZalaegerszeg ahead of the game, puts together his team:

5. Andy Robertson
Not only is he skipper, there’s also not too many rivals for his place given Kieran Tierney’s departure from the squad. He’s also desperate to play as many minutes as possible after finding game time harder to come by at Liverpool this season. | PA

6. Billy Gilmour
One of Clarke’s takeaways from the new international schedule of monthly double-headers is the requirement to make changes in the tight turnaround between games and Gilmour’s recall, perhaps for Lewis Ferguson, seems sensible. Ferguson is only just making his way back from injury while Gilmour is eager for minutes having not started for Napoli yet this season. | SNS Group

7. Lennon Miller
With Scott McTominay thought to be struggling with injury, perhaps it’s best not to antagonise Napoli by playing the star man in a fixture where one hopes he might not be crucial to Scotland’s hopes of success. Others can bear the burden, why not Miller? He’s not in the squad to sightsee. | SNS Group

8. Ben Gannon-Doak
Unleash BGD. Shook things up a bit in the 15 or so minutes he was on the pitch at Parken and his speed and trickery might be required to unlock a packed Belarus defence. Another one chomping at the bit for game time, this seems an ideal fixture to give him only a third competitive start. | PA
