Sebastien Pocognoli's second match as Scotland head coach ended in disappointment as Switzerland comfortably prevailed 3-0 at Hampden in a Nations League B1 encounter.
The Scots faced an uphill battle from very early on after centre-half Jack Hendry was dismissed after eight minutes for bringing down Dan Ndoye and denying the Swiss winger an obvious goalscoring opportunity.
Ricardo Rodriguez scored from the resultant free-kick - a penalty was originally awarded but downgraded by VAR - and the Swiss rarely needed to get out of neutral, let alone first gear as Scotland were left chasing shadows.
Switzerland defender Nico Elvedi added a second on 55 minutes when he stole in ahead of Oli McBurnie to net an Ndoye cross and then Zeki Amdouni completed the scoring with a powerful effort beyond Scotland keeper Angus Gunn.
Scotland failed to trouble Swiss keeper Gregor Kobel and are now four games without a goal, with Pocognoli's next two matches against North Macedonia on Saturday in Skopje before welcoming Slovenia to Glasgow on Tuesday.
We give each player a mark out of ten for their performance at Hampden:

1. Angus Gunn
No chance with any of the Swiss goals, with Amdouni's effort taking a vicious curve just as it approached him. Made two good saves from Ndoye in each half and was sharp off his line when called upon. 5 | PA

2. Jack Hendry
A disastrous night for the Scotland centre-half, who denied Ndoye an obvious goalscoring opportunity on eight minutes after being outpaced by the Nottingham Forest wide man and then pulling him down on the edge of the penalty box. A victim of Scotland playing a high press, he was always second best from the halfway line in a foot race. Switzerland scored from the free-kick via Rodriguez. Would have been better letting Ndoye try and score. A terrible error of judgement in the heat of the moment. 2 | PA

3. Scott McKenna
Asked to play in the centre of the back three, the Dinamo Zagreb defender had to hold firm with the dismissal of Hendry. Was positionally solid and made a number of good tackles. A reasonable night's work given the trying circumstances. 5 | PA

4. Luis Binks
First cap for the 25-year-old, who plays his club football for Brondby. Made his intentions clear early with a lunging tackle on Elvedi. Perhaps fortunate not to be punished for a blatant shoulder charge on the incoming Freuler. Was unable to get out to Ndoye to stop the cross for Switzerland's second goal but had some good interventions. 5 | SNS Group
