Nathan Patterson scored his first ever Scotland goal, linking well with John McGinn in the first half, then the same duo combined to set up Che Adams for the second goal after the interval.
There were a few nerves when Patterson conceded a penalty but Craig Gordon produced the goods to save the spot kick with Kieran Tierney clearing the rebound with a fantastic response.
Now focus will be on the Denmark game and trying to ensure that Scotland are seeded for the play-off which takes place in March.

5. Nathan Patterson - 8.5
Had a couple of moments defensively, including the handball to concede the penalty. However, absolutely brilliant going forward once he got into the game. Exactly the type of role needed from a wing-back. Linked really well with John McGinn to open the scoring then set up Che Adams. Showed his intelligence with his runs, able to go wide and inside and excellent composure. Photo: Paul Devlin - SNS Group / SFA

Some lovely passes outside to stretch the game and open it up for Scotland. Got forward and tested the Moldovan keeper with a stinging shot. Found himself having to try and mark Ionita for the home side’s best chance. Drove the team forward in the second half really well. Photo: Craig Williamson - SNS Group

7. Callum McGregor - 7
An understated performance in the midfield. Needed to provide a wee bit more control in the first half but when he went through the gears he was at the heart of some excellent football. influence grew in the second half. Photo: Alan Harvey - SNS Group

8. Stuart Armstrong - 6
An erratic performance. Some really intelligent movements as he linked with and created space for Robertson and Tierney. Final ball and decision making let him down in the final third. Photo: BOGDAN TUDOR
