Aberdeen linked with pre-contract move for Scottish Premiership star

Aberdeen are said to be ready to offer a pre-contract to Ross County striker Ross Stewart.

The Daily Record reports Derek McInnes is a long-term admirer of the Staggies hitman and will look to take advantage of the 24-year-old’s expiring contract.

The Highland club are prepared to lose their best player for nothing with the ex-Albion Rovers star too old for them to be due any development fee.

Stewart has scored six times in 21 appearances this season, but hasn’t netted in the league since August.
