Scotland began their World Cup preparations with a narrow 0-1 defeat to Japan at Hampden Park on Saturday night.
In a game that offered little in the way of goalmouth entertainment, it was substitute Junya Ito who secured a late victory for the Samurai Blue, with the Genk star tapping home beyond Angus Gunn in the 84th minute.
The Tartan Army’s first chance to serenade their heroes after that famous 4-2 win over Denmark in November, which ended their near three-decade wait to qualify for the World Cup this summer, both sets of fans were in party mode ahead of kick-off as they counted down the days until the tournament gets underway in June.
