Nations League draw: Scotland land tricky group as familiar foes clash again
Swiss are main danger for Clarke’s men in Group B1
Scotland have been pitted against Switzerland, Slovenia and North Macedonia in the 2026/27 Nations League.
The draw took place at UEFA headquarters in the Swiss town of Nyon and the Scots have been given a tricky assignment for the next edition of the tournament in Group B1.
Switzerland were undoubtedly the toughest pot two team Scotland could face. The pair faced off at the European Championships in 2024, with the score ending 1-1.

Slovenia (2017) and North Macedonia (2013) have also faced Scotland in recent UEFA qualification campaigns and make up the group for Steve Clarke’s men.
Scotland are back in Nations League B after losing to Greece in a relegation play-off last year.
The Nations League will take place after Scotland’s World Cup campaign during the summer. The Scots are in Group C of the tournament alongside Haiti, Morocco and Brazil.
The Nations League ties will be played across two international windows later in 2026. The first four matches will be staged during an elongated international break between September 24 and October 6, with the final two games held between November 12 and 17.
The League A quarter-final and League A/B and B/C play-offs are scheduled for March 25-30, 2027, with the finals set to be held on June 9-13 next year.
