The Scotland team is on its way back home after their elimination from the World Cup was confirmed on Saturday morning.

A stream of players could be seen leaving the team’s hotel in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Sunday afternoon.

The team were told of manager Steve Clarke's decision to step down shortly after Croatia’s 2-1 win over Ghana on Saturday confirmed Scotland’s exit from the tournament.

Clarke led Scotland to three out of the last four major tournaments and it was the national team’s first appearance in the World Cup finals since 1998.
