Scotland’s second match of Euro 2024 has ended in a draw following a 1-1 stalemate against Switzerland in Cologne.
The Scots came into this match on the banks of the Rhine knowing that at least a draw was required to maintain strong hopes of becoming the first Scotland national team to progress to the knock-out stages of a major competition.
And they got it with this performance, which was streets ahead of what was shown against Germany in the opening match. Scott McTominay put the Scots ahead on 13 minutes with a deflected effort, only for the Swiss to get level when Xerdan Shaqiri curled home and excellent finish, pouncing on a mistake for the Scottish rearguard.
The result keeps Scotland’s hopes of progression to the last 16 alive and sets up a mouthwatering clash against the Hungarians on Sunday night in Stuttgart.
We give each player a mark out of ten for their performance against the Swiss ...

9. Andy Robertson - 7
His bombed run down the left led to Scotland's opener. Led by example with a number of forays forward. His delivery was hit and miss at times but was a constant ball of energy and defended diligently - very little came down his side. | PA

10. Scott McTominay - 8
His effort was deflected in by Fabian Schar for the opener. Drove forward and pressed, while also doing some dirty work in defence at set-plays. Did a proper smothering job on Swiss talisman Granit Xhaka and was the class bully, always aggressive and eager to be involved in all of Scotland's good work. Did pick up a yellow card for speaking to the referee without permission. | Getty Images

11. John McGinn - 5
Played at times a second striker and was very lively in the press. Did not see much of the ball in opening half and endured a frustrating second half, picking up a booking later in the game for a challenge on Fabian Schar. | Getty Images

12. Che Adams - 5
Looked sprightlier than he was against Germany. Had a wee half-chance from a corner that he did not connect with properly. Did not see much of the ball and lacked veritable service but never stopped running. | Getty Images
