It took just 143 days but we finally got there, the return of the Scottish Premiership. Jonathan Obika's crucial goal to give St Mirren a 1-0 win over Hearts back in March was the final bit of action before the league shutdown. It took just 21 minutes for the first goal to be scored of the 2020/21 campaign when Ryan Kent ran through and slotted it past Aberdeen goalkeeper Joe Lewis to give Rangers an opening day win.
There was plenty to get our teeth into over the weekend’s football which spilled over into Monday night with live games, fans watching on screens, cardboard cutouts and more across the six games.

9. County clean sheet
Staurt Kettlewell must have been delighted with the way his team kept a clean sheet despite dropping deeper and deeper as the match went on with Motherwell. The team conceded an average of two goals a game last season and were prone to losing goals from set pieces and throwing away points, only Hibs lost more from winning positions. 10. Anderson's struggles
The diminutive striker got handed a start against Rangers by Derek McInnes in the absence of Curtis Main and Sam Cosgrove. However, Aberdeen ended up treating Anderson as if he was a towering brute like his team-mates. He was swallowed up by the Rangers centre-backs as he barely got a sniff. 11. Brian Rice bravery
Teams going to Parkhead and Ibrox to surrender is frustrating. As is managers saying they won’t be judged by games there. Well, Brian Rice started with a 4-4-2 which included Lewis Smith out wide and when Ronan Hughes, the other wide man was injured he brought on another striker. Accies did well in the first half before Celtic’s quality told in the second. Photo: Craig Williamson - SNS Group

12. Turnbull positioning
Motherwell could quite easily have come away from Dingwall with at the very least a point despite some really poor individual performances. They missed a penalty and Callum Lang missed a sitter. But the team selection still has us pondering: why was David Turnbull started on the left and why was Allan Campbell on the bench? Photo: Craig Foy - SNS Group
