How to watch Celtic v St Johnstone
It's top versus bottom as Celtic host St Johnstone in the final William Hill Premiership fixture card of 2024 on Sunday.
Brendan Rodgers' side have been imperious across the past 12 months with their only two defeats coming in a 2-0 loss to Hearts back in March when reduced to 10 men and the 7-1 humbling away to Champions League finalists Borussia Dortmund in October.
Those have been the only two blotches across an impressive calendar year which saw Celtic lift three trophies with last season's league and Scottish Cup double followed by clinching the first silverware of the current campaign in the Premier Sports Cup earlier this month. Celtic also hold a 12-point gap at the top of the Premiership as they pursue a fourth successive title after winning 15 and drawing two of their opening 17 league matches, scoring 48 goals and conceding only four times to leave Rangers trailing in their wake.
A resounding 4-0 win over Motherwell on Boxing Day ensured Celtic got quickly back to winning ways following the goalless draw at Dundee United before Christmas. St Johnstone, meanwhile, are on a winless run of five games, losing four of those, which has seen them slump to the foot of the table, two points behind Hearts. It's almost a decade since Saints last won at Celtic Park through a solitary Danny Swanson strike back in March 2015. It would be a huge surprise if Simo Valakari's strugglers managed to repeat the feat with Celtic fully expected to warm up for the January 2 showdown against Rangers at Ibrox with another victory.
