Kasper Hogh ready for Celtic 'fire' as contract details, fee and shirt number details emerge for striker
Danish hitman pens long-term deal with champions
New Celtic striker Kasper Hogh says he is ready to hit the ground running at Celtic after completing a record-breaking transfer to the Premiership champions.
Celtic confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that they have spent a club record fee, believed to be in the region of £11 million, for Hogh. The Denmark internationalist has agreed a four-year deal with a further option to extend.
Hogh helped fire Bodo/Glimt into the last 16 of the Champions League and will wear the No 9 shirt. Capped four times by Denmark, the 25-year-old could make his debut for Celtic on Monday night when they begin the defence of their league title at home to Dundee.

The former AaB and Stabaek striker will be tasked with leading the front line and is Celtic’s second summer signing following the arrival of Colombian forward Camilo Duran, who cost in the region of £6m from Azeri side Qarabag.
Celtic are keen to make the Champions League main phase after missing out last season following a painful play-off exit at the hands of Kazakh side Kairat Almaty and Hogh believes he has what it takes to be Celtic’s difference-maker in the penalty box.
“I’m so happy,” said Hogh, who was linked with Celtic during the last transfer window. “When I came into the room and saw the shirt, I was really excited.
“The history of the club is so big. I spoke with some people and with my family about the club. The feeling they had, and the feeling I had in my stomach, was that this was a really good match.
“I like to be in the box and score goals, but I also want to help my team-mates defensively and work hard for the team. I’ve trained throughout the summer and I’ve already played league games in Norway, so I feel ready. I just want to get started and be thrown into the fire.”
The arrival of Hogh partially offsets the departure of last season’s talisman and key forward Daizen Maeda, who was sold to Ipswich Town for a deal approaching £10m last weekend.
Celtic have also been heavily linked with Paderborn midfielder Mika Baur and Real Oviedo winger Haissem Hassan in recent weeks.
