Camilo Duran x Kasper Hogh can work for Celtic - just ask a man who knows
Colombian buoyed after becoming an internationalist
Celtic manager Martin O’Neill has a lot to ponder as he tries to get his team firing on the back of three successive defeats - one of which is how to configure his front line.
Star striker Kasper Hogh has only scored three goals since making an £11 million move from Bodo/Glimt - and they all came in the same match against Kilmarnock two months ago. It has led to another summer signing in Camilo Duran being elevated above him in the eyes of the fans.
Duran believes the two can play together up front, something O’Neill has largely shied away from despite making noises about deviating from Celtic’s usual 4-3-3 system.

But if the Northern Irishman is inclined to going with two strikers as a pair in Sunday’s Premiership match against Motherwell at Fir Park, Duran - who has played predominantly out wide - has backed himself and Hogh to thrive.
"We can definitely play together,” said Duran. "I'll play wherever the manager wants me to play - on the wing, as a striker, as a No10. I can definitely play up top with Kasper. He is a great player with some great traits. There are goals in him and, of course, it's a possibility we can play together."
Duran returned to Celtic from international duty with a spring in his step after earning his first caps for Colombia. He came off the bench for two minutes in a 1-0 home defeat by Paraguay and then played 29 minutes of a 2-0 victory over Peru.
"I was really happy to make my debut for the national team,” said Duran. "It had been a dream of mind since I was a kid. Hopefully I can now go on to make many more appearances for my country.
"My idols back then were James Rodriguez and Luis Diaz. Luis was rested for the two games I played in last week. But he should be back for the next window when we play Chile home and away.
"My goal now is to keep playing for Celtic at a high level and performing the way I have been. Hopefully that will lead to more call-ups.”
Duran credits his £6m move from Qarabag to Celtic as elevating his international status. "I do think moving to Celtic in the summer was a big factor,” said Duran. "Obviously I'm now playing in a new league with a really big club. If I put in performances and do things the right way here, it will definitely help my chances of winning more caps.”
Duran was also pleased that O’Neill remained in post after much speculation over whether the Northern Irishman would stand down over the international break.
"I'm delighted he is still here,” added the 24-year-old. "Since I arrived at Celtic, he has received me in the best possible way. He has given me so much confidence. Hopefully Sunday can be the start of getting out of this difficult period."
