Former Celtic striker on the move and links up with ex-Rangers forward Kenny Miller
Former Celtic striker – and heart-breaker – Scott McDonald is on the move in his native Australia, and will play out his twilight years alongside another well-known Scottish football face.
McDonald has joined Western Sydney Wanderers in his homeland’s A-League until the end of this season – a team managed by Carl Robinson and assistant Kenny Miller.

The former Dundee United, Partick Thistle and Motherwell striker is well remembered for his time at Celtic – but also his role in the last-day title drama of ‘Helicopter Sunday’ in 2005 when two late goals for the Steelmen changed the destination of the top-flight title.
McDonald left Brisbane Roar last week, and the Wanderers become his third club since his return Down Under. He left Partick Thistle in 2019 to sign for Western United.
Well-travelled Miller has been in Australia for a year – initially joining Newcastle Jets as Carl Robinson’s coach and then following the manager to Sydney last October.
