Celtic return to Champions League action this Wednesday as they make the journey to Italy to face Atalanta.
Currently sat in 20th place in the League Path of the competition, the visitors will want to respond to their 7-1 mauling against Borussia Dortmund last time they were in European action, while their Italian hosts are in search of back-to-back wins after winning their last game 3-0 against Shakhtar Donetsk.
Brendan Rodgers has been without the defensive duo of Cameron Carter-Vickers and Greg Taylor for a number of weeks, and confirmed that neither will be available for the clash in Bergamo.
Centre-back Carter-Vickers trained at Celtic Park on Tuesday morning, but did not make the journey to Italy. Manager Brendan Rodgers said: “He hasn’t travelled. Greg Taylor hasn’t travelled as well. Greg should join the group on Friday. Cam, we will see when we get back.”
But how will Celtic line-up for the game on Wednesday night? This is how The Scotsman think the Celtic starting XI will look against Atalanta on Wednesday.

1. GK: Kasper Schmeichel
Had a nightmare in his last Champions League outing, with Dortmund running out 7-1 winners. He's been reliable since joining the club in the summer though, and is Celtic's undisputed number one. | SNS Group

2. RB: Alastair Johnston
The Canadian is having an excellent start to the season, and will trusted to man the right-hand side against Atalanta. | SNS Group

3. CB: Auston Trusty
The £6million summer signing from Sheffield United will hope to impress in Italy after an unconvincing Champions League debut in Dortmund three weeks ago. | SNS Group

4. CB: Liam Scales
The Irishman has had a strong start to the season and made himself undroppable at the heart of Celtic's defence. | SNS Group
