Dumfries trip awaits Muir after Youth Cup triumph

BOROUGHMUIR confirmed their status as joint-favourites for the National Youth under-18 Cup with a quarter final win over GHA by 34-9 at Meggetland last night.

The Edinburgh and Lothians under-18 league winners ran in five tries on their way to booking a semi-final place, two from centre Rory Scott, who also contributed with three conversions and a penalty and one apiece from prop Joe Taylor, winger Andrew Bulumakav, and full back Jonathan Byrne-Leitch.

The result means that Boroughmuir will travel to Dumfries for their semi final match scheduled for Sunday.

Dumfries made sure of their place in the last four with 17-10 win over Haddington at Neilson Park where both sides scored two tries, the difference being Dumfries' goal kicking that produced two conversions and a penalty goal.

In the third quarter final , played at Stoneyhill, joint favourites and last season's beaten finalists, Currie Colts proved too strong for a young Musselburgh side, winning 12-6 to secure an away semi final against Aberdeen Grammar.

Aberdeen Grammar who had already achieved a place in the last four with a win over Highland in the only quarter final that went ahead last month.
