Week of online events will showcase postgraduate options

From Monday 13 April to Friday 17 April, ENU will hold a week of online events designed to showcase its new postgraduate courses.

Prospective students will have the chance to ask questions of the academics leading the new programmes.

Ellen Fisher, the university's Student Recruitment and Outreach Manager, hopes that this will give anyone thinking of taking their studies further the chance to get an authentic taste of the course before they sign up.

“Whether you’re a current undergraduate looking for your next step within higher education, or you graduated a few years ago and you’re keen to upskill after taking a study break, this is a perfect opportunity to see what’s on offer,” she says. “As you progress with your career, it can be helpful to have a master’s or another educational qualification to help you get to the next level – and we’re here to help with that.”

The week of sessions will cover topics from artificial intelligence to sustainable marketing, and service design to sound design. You can see the full list of new postgraduate courses here.

Ellen is encouraging everyone to see what might take their fancy. “Come along and find out more about the course you are interested in to see what we offer. Our academics can offer advice and knowledge in a specific area that might be exactly what you are looking for.”

And because it’s all online, it means those living outside Edinburgh - or outside Scotland - get to try it out without travelling to one of ENU’s campuses. All online sessions will also be recorded for those living in different time zones or who have other commitments at that time.

Learning with a vocational focus to help your career

ENU has a long-held and well-deserved reputation for helping its graduates to find work: It is a top 5 UK modern university for career and graduate prospects (Times Good University Guide 2026).

“We are constantly speaking to industry leaders and working with companies to find out what graduates are missing, then bringing in courses that can meet that skills gap,” says Ellen.

“We have launched some really interesting and quite specific master’s programmes, so we wanted to spotlight those with this virtual open week. You can experience what it would be like to study at Napier and have your questions answered by the experts that teach here.”

These range from a master’s degree in lighting design or an MSc in sound design to the chance to study Information Science, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, or Robotics and Autonomous Systems Engineering.

The creative industries are also well represented: from September, ENU will be offering unique new ways to study creative subjects. They include the UK’s first online creative documentary filmmaking course and a fresh flexible approach to upskilling those in the creative industries.

Discover why so many students love ENU

As well as the virtual lectures in the dedicated subjects, there will also be sessions to help prospective students learn more about the application progress as well as giving you a guide to student life at ENU.

This will allow you to find out about funding and fees, as well as the support available for students.

Edinburgh Napier University regularly tops the charts for student satisfaction: it has been named number one in Edinburgh for the past five years in the National Student Survey. It was also the best modern university in Scotland, according to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2025.
