Laithwaites Wine Festival comes to Edinburgh and Glasgow: All the info, plus a special ticket discount

The Laithwaites Wine Festival is a dream ticket for all oenophiles: Whether they go mad for Merlot, bats about Bordeaux, or like to shimmy to Chardonnay, the festival is packed with wine makers, wine lovers and wine-themed events.

They’ve been organising wine roadshows for decades, and it’s the first time that the festival has been hosted in Scotland since 2019 – and the much-anticipated tickets are likely to sell out fast.

What’s on where and when

The main event is on Sunday, March 8, at the Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh. Festival-goers will be able to try dozens of wines, including off-the-beaten-track hidden gems to classics from around the world, including Spain, France and New Zealand. And if fizz is your tipple, or your palate prefers sweeter tastes, you will find something special, including Champagne and sherries.

Interactive experiences on the day include cocktail making, a cheese and wine pairing masterclass with Mellis Artisan Scottish Cheese, and a new take on a silent disco – Merlot on the Dancefloor allows you to pop your headphones and see how music and rhythm can actually change the way you taste your tipple.

And in Glasgow there will be a single session at Platform, near Central Station on March 7.

Events have been planned to fit around public transport, so you can enjoy every moment without needing a duty driver.
