Indigo Deep

Spiderman has been spinning his webs across Glasgow this summer as movie crews descended on the city to film the latest arachnid adventure Brand New Day, but home-grown talent has also been busy getting some footage in the can.

Indigo Deep is a bold new independent Scottish sci-fi action thriller – and the talented team behind it is inviting you to be part of the action to help bring it to a global audience.

Those behind Indigo Deep may not have pockets as deep as the likes of Marvel and Sony, but the passion for putting Scotland on the movie map is no less powerful.

The film centres around an ordinary struggling working class family, who get thrust into dangerous extraordinary circumstances when a desperate father drowning in debt, makes a wrong decision that spirals out of control and puts his family in direct path with substantial danger. That danger takes the form of charismatic Rothgar Kane, a man who simultaneously mingles with and manipulates high society, whilst ruthlessly running an underground mob of organised crime.

With Scottish, British, American, Nigerian and Hungarian talent, there’s a diverse background for those involved, but the goal is the same – to complete filming and get the show onto big and small screens in Scotland, the UK. Its makers hope this will prove a catalyst to create work opportunities and showcase and promote emerging skilled diverse independent creatives, who work and are based in Scotland.

Having self-funded the production so far and completed roughly 40% of filming, the team has launched an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign to appeal to individual and corporate sponsors, with a target of £22,000 to finish the remaining 60% of filming and be able to achieve good-quality post-production.

Meet the team

Director and Writer – Joseph Joseph Iyore is a Nigerian-American filmmaker now based in Scotland, who has over 15 years of experience across multiple countries in writing, directing, music, acting, and martial arts.

His previous work includes contributions to BBC’s Keeping It Up, BBC’s TV series Guilt, and directing and writing shorts.

Indigo Deep is Joseph’s most ambitious project so far and he has intentionally collaborated closely with emerging promising talent.

He is inspired by writers and filmmakers like Quentin Tarantino, Ryan Coogler, Guillermo del Toro and leans towards genres including action, sci-fi, supernatural, thriller and horror. His style of filmmaking is a raw and unvarnished, blending harsh realism with visceral, high-impact action.

This film is my heart and vision on screen, every frame shaped with love, risk, dedication, and sacrifice. Supporting Indigo Deep isn’t just backing a movie, it’s empowering independent filmmakers to break through and build a lasting creative future.
