Don’t miss the Scone Palace Garden Fair 2026 – Scotland’s National Garden Show returns

In its fifth year, the Scone Palace Garden Fair is fast becoming known as the “Chelsea of the North”
Established as ‘Scotland’s National Garden Show’, it is taking place in the heart of Scotland in beautiful Perthshire across two days at the end of this month - Friday 29th and Saturday 30th May 2026.
The two-day celebration of gardening, horticulture and outdoor living provides a wonderful all-inclusive day out offering an opportunity for gardeners to listen to talks from experts, view practical demonstrations, purchase new plants and flowers from the many independent plant nurseries in attendance and enjoy the 90+ exhibitors, music and many dining outlets.

And there’s more
Although firmly established as a gardening show there is much on offer, with entertainment and activities to keep the whole family happy – even those who are not necessarily green fingered.
A whole host of children’s activities include a chance to make your own fairy gardens to take home, face painting, fairy trail, playpark, bouncy castles and entertainers in the Kids Zone.

For those more food than garden focused there are 21 dining outlets to enjoy along with Scone Palace’s own coffee shop where all items are freshly produced daily by the Palace chef and baker – including the famous ‘Scone at Scone’. Event goers can even sample a mini-Palace Scone at the pop-up retail tent on the lawn and enjoy it complete with complimentary cream and Palace jam. The more serious foodies will enjoy the new Cooking Demonstration tent where Sarah Rankin, and Fraser Bell of 63 Tay street will be providing demonstrations using produce from the Palace Kitchen Garden (within the Walled Garden) and the wider estate. Further delights can be found perusing the Perth Farmers market who are also in attendance.
Enjoy a day of exploration
Entry tickets to the event also provide the opportunity to explore Scone Palace gardens and grounds – all 100 acres which boasts a Pinetum, maze, Walled & Kitchen Garden, fairy trail for kids, newly upgraded playpark and many very special old trees including the David Douglas Fir.
The most important highlight of the entire show is the Scottish Garden Design Competition which provides both professional gardeners and amateurs gardeners the opportunity to compete. The Showcase Garden Design category, now in its second year, has three finalists and they have a unique challenge of creating a garden that will not only look amazing for the two-day event but will be judged for 18 months with the winner being chosen by the judges at next year’s event in 2027. For the small space garden design competition there are 11 entries and the winner will be chosen and announced on the Saturday of the show. Both people’s choice winners will be chosen by those attending the garden fair by voting across the two days.
