Zayn Malik has cancelled his planned performance at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro on May 16, rescheduling his upcoming shows in Manchester and London.

Zayn Malik has cancelled his upcoming Glasgow performance as well as the majority of dates on what was due to be his largest ever solo tour.

The former One Direction singer issued a statement on social media that he had to cut the number of shows as part of his KONNAKOL UK arena tour in support of his most recent album.

It follows Malik being taken to hospital in April with a mystery illness.

In his message to fans, Malik thanked them for their support and stated that he was “at home recovering” and “will be better and stronger than before”.

He wrote: “I’ve had to take another look at my schedule for the months ahead and have to reduce the number of shows on the KONNAKOL Tour.

“I want to make sure I still get out and see as many of you as I possibly can. I’m really looking forward to playing these shows for you, and I hope to see the rest of you around the world very soon."
