Jordan Gray: Family ‘heartbroken’ as major hunt for gunman who shot 'loving' dad in his Motherwell home continues
Enquiries are ongoing.
The family of a Motherwell dad who was ‘murdered in cold blood’ within his own home have appealed for information as officers continue their efforts to trace the person responsible.
Jordan Gray's body was found in a flat in Shields Court on December 15 - a day after the murder.
Police Scotland said a post-mortem examination revealed the 26-year-old had suffered fatal injuries "consistent with being shot by a firearm".
Police are now continuing their enquiries to identify a person seen on Shields Court around 10.35pm on Sunday, December 14, wearing a dark jacket with the hood up and dark trousers.
At a media conference on Tuesday, the family of Jordan appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
Family appeal for information to find out who ‘murdered son in cold blood’
Michael Groome, Jordan’s stepfather, said: “We are here today to appeal for any information leading to finding out who murdered our son in cold blood.
“The outpouring of love we have has since Jordan’s death is testament to the fact that he was a well-liked young man and, yet someone stole him from us.
“We are devastated by our loss. His sisters and wee brother are struggling to understand how someone could do this to their big brother.
“Jordan’s baby will have to grow up without knowing how much his dad loved him.

“We would like to thank the police for their continued support, and ask that if anyone knows anything about what happened to Jordan – no matter how small – that you come forward and speak to the police.
“Help us stop them from doing this to someone else and leaving another family heartbroken.”

“Enquiries continue to identify a person seen on Shields Court around 10.35pm on Sunday, 14 December wearing a dark jacket with the hood up and dark trousers. If you know who this was, or think the description matches you, please come forward even if it’s just so we can eliminate you from our enquiries.
“It may be that information is known in the local area about who is responsible. No matter how insignificant you feel that information is, or if you think we’ll already know, please report it to us.”
