Glasgow may not be able to claim as many ghosts as Edinburgh - reputedly one of the most haunted places in Britain - but there have still been plenty of accounts of strange goings-on recorded through the years.
From poltergeists and ‘white ladies’, to ghostly pub regulars and haunted school playgrounds, there are no shortage of tall tales told by Glaswegians.
Here are 10 of the most haunted locations in the Dear Green Place and what spectres have been spotted.

9. Milton Street
Shortly after the now-demolished Milton Street School, on Milton Street, was built in the late 19th century reports started coming in of white figures floating around the playground. Rumours spread and crowds of thousands turned up to try and see a ghost for themselves. It was thought that it was an illusion caused by reflecting lamplight but non-sceptics believe the figures to be the victims of a nearby mill disaster. | Google Maps

10. Stockwell Street
The Scotia Bar, on Stockwell Street, is one of Glasgow's oldest bar so it's a classic spot for spirits of both varieties. It's said to be haunted by a former landlord who hung himself in the beer cellar in the 1970s. There's also a green lady (the ghost of a woman wearing a green dress) who has been spotted behind the bar and visiting psychics have claimed to have made contact with other otherworldly regulars. | Google Maps
