A number of small businesses have been hit hard by the devastating fire on Union Street in Glasgow, with more than £80,000 raised so far.

A number of Scottish businesses have been left wondering what the future will look like after a huge fire in Glasgow city centre gutted a historic building.

The fire on Union Street was first reported on Sunday afternoon, with 18 engines, specialist resources and three high reach vehicles sent to attend the blaze at its peak.

The incident is understood to have originated from a vape shop on the ground floor of the four-storey B-listed building, located beside Glasgow Central Station, which has now collapsed. The flames are said to have spread through the building to the corner of Gordon Street, with no rail services running through Scotland’s busiest train station on Monday.
