Top Scottish bar to celebrate women in whisky with new menu

A renowned whisky bar has launched a new women-led menu.

SCOTCH at The Balmoral in Edinburgh has launched a new women-led flight in collaboration with whisky specialist Stefanie Anderson.

Available from 13 June through to September, this exclusive menu is the first in a series of partnerships with women in whisky.

The menu brings together a signature cocktail and a curated whisky flight, all designed to spotlight a different perspective on whisky – one that puts flavour, storytelling and passion at the forefront and reinforces the point that whisky is a drink for all.

Ms Anderson, a luxury ambassador for Diageo, has worked closely with Ross Barr, manager of SCOTCH, to shape a line-up that’s expressive, approachable and layered with character.

It is a collaboration that not only introduces new flavour profiles and ways to explore whisky, but also sets the tone for how SCOTCH will continue evolving its guest experience.

The menu introduces a signature serve, La Dame du Usquabae – a bright, elegant mix of Cardhu 18 Year Old, white peach, apple, honey and citrus, topped with Champagne.

The menu also features three standout drams, which have beencurated to take guests on a journey of flavour, texture and whisky stories.

The first is Singleton of Dufftown 18 Year Old, which brings together orchard fruit, honey and vanilla on the nose with a creamy palate and a long, elegant finish of soft oak and gentle sweetness.

Then, there is Dailuaine 21 Year Old “Marbled Treasures” (Special Release 2025), a rich and sherried drop with notes of dried fruit and warming spice, a full palate of raisins, brown sugar and roasted nuts, and a long, gently spiced finish.

Finally, there is the Talisker 25 Year Old, a refined coastal whisky which balances sea salt, citrus and soft smoke with layers of honey, dried fruit and peppery spice, leading into a long, warming finish.

Mr Barr said: “Women play such an important role in shaping whisky, but they haven't always been front and centre in the industry.

“This is about bringing those perspectives forward in a way that feels natural, enjoyable and genuinely enhances how our guests experience whisky here in SCOTCH.”

Ms Anderson added: “It’s been a pleasure working with Ross and the SCOTCH team on something that not only elevates the guest experience but brings a fresh perspective to the bar in a lasting and genuine way.

“The aim was to select whiskies that really speak through flavour and texture, and to show just how broad and exciting Scotch can be, especially for those who are whisky-curious or who haven’t yet found their way in, whether through intimidation or simply not knowing where to start.”

Located within The Balmoral, SCOTCH Whisky Bar is home to over 500 bottles spanning Scotland’s whisky regions. This new menu marks the start of a continuing series of collaborations with women in whisky which aims to bring fresh perspectives and deepen expertise behind the bar. The menu will continue to evolve past September with the help of other women in industry.

The flight will be available for £100, and cocktail from £30 from 13 June at SCOTCH Whisky Bar. Guests are welcome to walk in or book in advance via [email protected]. The bar is open Sunday–Thursday, 4pm–11:30pm, and Friday–Saturday, 3pm–midnight.
