Scottish hotel crowned best traditional afternoon tea destination by national awards
A Scottish hotel has been recognised for delivering the UK's finest traditional afternoon tea experience.
Palm Court at The Balmoral has been named Best Traditional Afternoon Tea in the UK at the Afternoon Tea Awards 2026.
These prestigious awards are judged by independent experts who assess every aspect of the guest experience, from booking and service to presentation and value.
The award is a significant achievement for Edinburgh, with Palm Court recognised ahead of venues across the country and demonstrating that exceptional afternoon tea extends far beyond London.

Set beneath its iconic glass dome and Venetian chandelier, Palm Court has long been regarded as one of Edinburgh's most celebrated destinations.
Guests can enjoy its award-winning Scottish Afternoon Tea alongside a selection of 88 loose-leaf teas, coffee and pastries, with vintage Champagne and live harp music, which adds to the experience.
Omar Ismail, Palm Court manager, said: “We are incredibly proud to be recognised as the home of the UK's Best Traditional Afternoon Tea. This award reflects the dedication of our team and our commitment to creating memorable experiences for every guest who visits Palm Court.”
