New brunch and sober bar spot to open in Edinburgh

A new hospitality business will open soon in the city’s west end.

Brioche, a new cafe with a sober bar inspired menu is set to open in Edinburgh’s west end.

Situated on the site of the former site of The Scottish Gantry, a whisky, wine and spirit shop, which closed in April due to “building and fire safety constraints and the uneconomical cost of hidden but required structural works”, the team behind Brioche have been posting updates to their social media platforms.

The new business, which will be run by the team behind Bruntsfield coffee shop Matcha Sando, will serve brunch, waterfall afternoon and will have a French-Japanese inspired sober bar concept menu with drinks likely to include botanical non alcoholic syrups with flavours such as yuzu and matcha.

The new owner has shared the afternoon tea menu, which has ‘surf and turf’ and vegetarian options, which will come with a selection of PekoeTea Edinburgh teas “served in rarely seen extraordinary waterfall teapots.”

Brioche is located at 10B Queensferry Street. With work going on inside the unit, an opening date is yet to be announced. They’re also hiring barista staff.
