The weather forecast for all four days of the Royal Highland Show in Edinburgh, as rain stays away
Visitors will flock to Ingliston this week to mark the 240th anniversary of the Royal Highland Show. From Thursday to Sunday, more than 200,000 attendees overall are set to enjoy live music, livestock competitions and parades.
But what is the weather outlook across the event’s four days, and will Wellies be a must-bring as thousands of Scotland and the UK’s best livestock goes on show.

Hide AdForecasts issued by the Met Office suggests there will be no soggy llamas on the opening day. It is expected to stay, dry albeit cloudy, with a moderate 18C peak - cosy by Scottish standards.
Friday, June 21
The dry weather should hold for much of the day, according to BBC Weather, with light rain forecast to be a possibility from the early evening. The temperature should peak at 19C, making Friday one of the warmest days of the show.
If any rain does eventuate, visitors can stay undercover by visiting the Highland Bothy at Scotland’s Larder to sample produce and artisan products from across the UK.
Saturday, June 22
BBC Weather has forecast sunny intervals throughout the morning, changing to cloudy conditions by late morning. Conditions should remain dry into the afternoon. The Met Office has forecast the temperature to peak at 19C.

Hide AdIn the evening, isitors can enjoy a performance at the Royal Highland Hoolie by chart toppers Rednex, who will perform their hit song Cotton Eye Joe.
Sunday, June 23
Visitors are expected to be rewarded again with a dry final day. Sunny conditions will bathe the showgrounds for much of the day, according to the Met Office. The temperature is again expected to peak at 19C.
Are there accessible areas at the Royal Highland Show?
There will be two accessible platforms at the show, one to view the main ring and one in the jubilee ring. These will be uncovered, so organisers have urged those using the platforms to dress appropriately for the Scottish weather.
