Scotland weather: Here's where snow is 'possible' in Scotland next week - full Met Office forecast

It’s expected hill snow may come to parts of northern Scotland.

Some parts of Scotland may see some sleet and snow showers over the next few days, the Met Office have predicted.

The showers are expected to have the chance of making an appearance in parts of the north over the next few days with frost already developing.

The latest forecast comes after a number of rainy days across Scotland and as an amber alert has been issued for Storm Claudia south of the border.

From Tuesday, November 18, to Thursday, November 27, the forecaster has said colder conditions already affecting the far north of Scotland are likely to extend south. Initially, during this time, there may be some less cold conditions with some cloud, rain and possibly hill snow affecting parts of the west.

Later on Tuesday, it is possible there will be snow showers in northern parts of the country as well as the first frosts of the season for many parts of the south of the UK.

In their forecast, it said that the rain will ease in central parts of the UK from Friday night while it remains drier in the far north. It’s expected it will be frosty for northern Scotland.

The outlook for Sunday to Tuesday reads: “Brighter but colder conditions are likely to extend southwards through Sunday and into early next week.

“Sleet and snow showers possible, mainly focused towards north facing coasts and hills.”

Highlands expected to experience highest chance of sleet and snow showers

For their Highland forecast, The Met Office forecasters said there is expected to be a temperature of -2 °C in parts from as early as this evening.

“Clear spells and a few showers through Friday evening, these wintry over the hills,” they said.

“Showers become less frequent overnight. A frost developing in rural areas and more sheltered glens. Minimum temperature -2 °C.
