Storm Hernando: Travel chaos for Scots travelling to New York as hundreds of UK flights cancelled
Hundreds of flights have been cancelled as the north-east of the US braces for one of the worst storms in a decade.
Scots heading across the Atlantic are facing severe travel disruption after a major snowstorm hit the east coast of the US on Sunday.

The storm, which is continuing on Monday, is set to be the worst in nearly a decade with around 40 million people under blizzard warnings.
New York City has all but ground to a halt after mayor Zohran Mamdani declared a state of emergency and a blanket travel ban.
Thousands of flights within, into and out of the US have been cancelled or delayed - including hundreds from the UK to cities including New York City, Boston and Philadelphia.

The cancelled flights included the 9.25am United Airlines flight from Edinburgh Airport to Newark Liberty.
Meanwhile, the flight tracking website Flight Aware showed 32 journeys from Edinburgh to JFK Airport with a connection elsewhere have been called off.
A further eight connections have been cancelled for those arriving into Newark Liberty.
Over 20 connections have been cancelled for those travelling from Glasgow to New York.
New York City is under a blizzard warning for the first time in nine years, with between 18 and 24 inches of snow expected to fall in the coming days.
Mayor Zohran Mamdani said at a press conference on Sunday that all schools will be closed and all streets, highways and bridges will be shut to non-essential traffic on Monday.
The US national weather service said: “A major winter storm is expected to bring heavy snow, strong winds, and coastal flooding across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast that may cause impossible travel conditions and power outages.”
It also warned of blizzard conditions and strong winds.
As well as the tens of millions under blizzard warnings, 19 million Americans are facing winter storm warnings.
Winter storm warnings are issued where there is a high chance of heavy snow and sleet, while a blizzard warning involves "sustained or frequent gusts” of 35mph or over combined with “considerable” falling or blowing snow for at least three hours.
