ScotRail services stopped after person is struck by train near Inverkeithing

Trains have ground to a halt on the Edinburgh Fife line after a person was hit by a train.

The person, whose sex has not yet been confirmed, was struck between Inverkeithing and Kirkcaldy on Sunday, 24 January at about 7pm.

The line has been closed between these stations as emergency services deal with the incident.

A ScotRail spokesman said: “We're working closely with Network Rail and the emergency services.

"Services to and from Fife will be diverted via Cowdenbeath where possible.

"Passengers can use ScotRail tickets and Smartcards on Stagecoach East buses between Dundee - Fife and in the Fife area.”
