Sky to expand Livingston site by 15 acres after major investment announcement
Sky has announced a major investment in its Livingston base, expanding the site by 15 acres.
The company said the development underscored Sky’s long-term commitment to West Lothian and would support thousands of jobs and drive regional economic growth.
It said a full planning application had been submitted for the proposals, which would take the site to more than 21,000 square metres in size and be home to around 3,000 staff.

Livingston Labour MP Gregor Poynton welcomed the announcement as a vote of confidence in the local workforce and the future of the area.
Sky said the campus would be designed with sustainability in mind, featuring an ultra-low-energy, three-storey building, powered by renewable energy including onsite solar panels.
The project will replace four existing buildings at Kirkton Campus and leased space on the Alba Campus, creating “a modern, flexible environment” for employees.
Sky expects the planning application will be decided this summer and the new campus will be ready for occupation in summer 2029.
Amenities will include modern event spaces, a meeting centre, café, restaurant, and activity-based workspaces. Existing facilities such as the gym will also be upgraded with state-of-the-art features, alongside extensive new landscaping.
And the company said the project will deliver significant benefits to the local community, including landscaped green spaces and active travel links.
It also said it was committed to using local supply chains wherever possible, creating opportunities for local businesses to contribute to the project’s delivery and ongoing operation.
Dana Strong, Sky Group CEO, said: “Livingston has been home to Sky’s leading customer service operation for more than three decades, and this investment demonstrates our long-term commitment to the region and confidence in Scotland’s pivotal role in the UK economy.
“The campus development will support thousands of jobs and create opportunities for local businesses. Designed with sustainability in mind, it will set a benchmark for innovation and regional growth.”
Gregor Poynton, who visited the site as MP late last year, welcomed the investment, which he said was expected to support thousands of skilled jobs, strengthen local supply chains and contribute positively to the regional economy, while also enhancing facilities for employees and supporting Sky’s customers across Scotland.
He said: “Having seen the plans first-hand during my visit, it is clear this development represents a significant commitment to the local economy and to the people who work here.
“Sky has a long-standing presence in the Livingston constituency, and this announcement demonstrates its continued dedication to its employees and to serving customers across Livingston and wider Scotland.
“This investment sends a strong signal about confidence in our local workforce and the future of this area.
“It is positive to see a major employer choosing to invest, grow and plan for the long term in Livingston, supporting good local jobs and opportunities for years to come.”
