Edinburgh crime: Dead dog found in Edinburgh park as appeal launched
The dog was discovered in the park last week.
The Scottish SPCA is appealing for information in a bid to trace a pet owner after a dog was found dead under a bush in a busy park in Edinburgh last week.
A black and white miniature bull terrier dog was discovered by a walker in St Mark's Park, situated on the Water of Leith near Warriston Road, on February 23.

The dog was wrapped in a blue fleece blanket and buried under a holly bush just off the path near the park’s football pitch.
A Scottish SPCA said the body had no signs of decomposition meaning it had not been buried for long before its body was discovered.
The charity said the dog appeared malnourished and its nails had grown into its pads, suggesting it had been neglected before its death.
The dog’s body was taken to the Scottish SPCA animal rescue centre in Edinburgh.
The charity said it was microchipped but the details were not up to date.
It is now appealing for information to trace the owner.
