Scotland trains: Trains cancelled between Airdrie and Bathgate after signalling cables stolen
National Rail said the disruption is likely to last ‘several hours’.
Trains between Airdrie and Bathgate are disrupted with passengers facing delays and cancellations after signalling cables on the line were stolen overnight.

Just after 7am on Tuesday, ScotRail said engineers were investigating a fault between the village of Caldercruix and Drumgelloch.
National Rail confirmed thieves had stolen the signalling cables from the site during the night, affecting power supply.
It said trains were not currently able to run safely.
The national rail body said disruption is likely for “several hours” and that it is working with the British Transport Police to identify those responsible.
According to ScotRail’s journey tracker, the issue is disrupting services between Helensburgh Central and Edinburgh, Balloch and Airdrie, Milngavie and Edinburgh via Airdrie and Milngavie and Springburn.
Ten services have been cancelled so far.
ScotRail said it had arranged replacement buses for affected passengers with ticket acceptance also in place on the Glasgow subway.
