In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Spanish Air Control said that the arrival of the flight was prioritised due to the onboard emergency.

The disruptive passenger was met by Spanish police when the plane landed.

Spanish Air Control said: “The crew requests medical assistance and police presence upon arrival due to a fight where, apparently, the flight attendant was assaulted.

“We prioritise shortening their approach to the maximum while coordinating ground assistance with the airport.

“All our support to the crew and passengers who have to endure such unpleasant situations.”

A spokesperson for Jet2 said: “We can confirm that police were called to offload a disruptive passenger from flight LS739 earlier today.”
