A815 incident: Road near Rest and Be Thankful closed with diversions in place following 'landslide'

Police said the route is currently closed in both directions, with diversions are in place via the B839 and B828.

Drivers are being told to avoid the area.

Yesterday, traffic on the A83 road was rerouted onto the Old Military Road due to heavy rainfall.

Around 60mm of rainfall was expected in 24 hours creating the risk of landslip onto the key route.

A spokesperson for Bear Scotland said on Sunday a decision would be made about re-opening the Rest and Be Thankful on Monday at noon following a hillside inspection and further forecast monitoring.
