Customers looking to pay a bill or check their balance are experiencing problems.

Bank of Scotland customers are unable to log into their online banking accounts today (Wednesday, June 3).

Lloyds Banking Group - which includes the Bank of Scotland and Halifax - started experiencing issues at around 11.15am and the problem has continued into the afternoon.

Users trying to log in are greeted with a message saying: “We know some of our customers are having issues logging in to online banking and our app. We’re sorry about this and we’re working to have everything back to normal as soon as we can”.

They are then rerouted to a sign-in page that doesn’t work.

The bank has around 26 million customers across the UK, many of whom have shared their frustration online.
