A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
A man who was accused of sexually assaulting an eight-year-old boy at a campsite near Loch Ness has died in prison.
John Bell, 44, was charged over the incident at the Loch Ness Bay campsite in Drumnadrochit. Police were told the boy was approached inside his tent between 12.20am and 1am on July 31.
Mr Bell was remanded in custody at HMP Inverness after appearing in court in September where he made no plea. He died in the jail on Saturday.
Police Scotland said there did not appear to be any suspicious circumstances. A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
A fatal accident inquiry will be held in due course.
A Scottish Prison Service spokesperson said: "Every death, whether in prison custody or in our communities, is a tragedy for all those who knew and supported the individual."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.20am on Saturday, November 8, we were made aware of the death of a man at HMP Inverness.
“There do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
The boy and his family were tourists on holiday in the area when the attack happened over the summer. The child was sleeping in a tent on his own.
Detectives previously said the father, who was in a separate tent, had overheard the incident and come out.
The suspect spoke back to the boy’s father, who had asked what he was doing, before walking off. The father then phoned police.
