ScotRail: Alternative travel arrangements issued ahead of rail engineering works between Edinburgh and Fife

Customers are being encouraged to plan ahead.

Alternative travel arrangements for ScotRail customers has been issued during essential engineering work to electrify the railway between Edinburgh and Fife.

No trains will operate between Haymarket and Dalmeny from Saturday, January 17 to Sunday, January 25 while engineers from Network Rail carry out round-the-clock work to electrify the route.

To help keep passengers moving during the works, ScotRail will operate diverted train services where possible alongside rail replacement buses serving local stations

Customers are being encouraged to plan ahead, check their journey before travelling and familiarise themselves with the alternative travel options available. A route-by-route breakdown is available on the ScotRail website.

The work in Fife is the latest phase of the Scottish Government’s wider programme to decarbonise Scotland’s railway.
