Which Scottish Labour MPs have called for Sir Keir Starmer to resign as Prime Minister?

We take a look at which Scottish Labour MPs have called for Sir Keir Starmer to quit - and which ones are still backing him.

Almost 100 Labour MPs are now calling for Sir Keir Starmer to resign as Prime Minister after a drubbing in the Scottish, Welsh and English local elections last week.

This includes a number of Scottish Labour MPs, including junior ministers in Starmer’s wider cabinet.

At the moment, eyes are on UK Health Secretary Wes Streeting - his allies say he is preparing to resign on Thursday and trigger a leadership contest against Sir Keir.

Despite this, Sir Keir is determined to cling on. On Tuesday, he told his cabinet: “The past 48 hours have been destabilising for government and that has a real economic cost for our country and for families.

“The Labour Party has a process for challenging a leader and that has not been triggered.

“The country expects us to get on with governing - that is what I am doing and what we must do as a cabinet.”

The Scotsman has taken a look at just where each of the Scottish Labour MPs stand on Sir Keir’s future.
