Sandie Peggie tribunal day two RECAP: Nurse's witnesses give evidence

Nurse Sandie Peggie alleges her union did not support her when she was suspended by NHS Fife.

Today has been the second day of Sandie Peggie’s second employment tribunal in Dundee.

The nurse became the centre of a media and political storm when she began her ground-breaking employment tribunal proceedings against NHS Fife.

And now she is going up against her union - the Royal College of Nursing - which she says failed to support her after she was suspended following an incident with transgender woman Dr Beth Upton in the women’s changing rooms. The union denies all allegations.

She gave hours of evidence on Wednesday, facing questions from her own lawyer and from the KC representing the Royal College of Nursing.

On Thursday, some of her witnesses came forward.

Former RCN Scotland policy officer Lisa Mackenzie, was up. Jenny Wilmot and Pauline Fox, two RCN members bringing their own belief discrimination claims against the union, also gave evidence.

Stephen O’Grady from the Free Speech Union also appeared.
